Devoted Citizen | Clean-Up Campaign

Updated: Sep 26

At Hope Restoration Ministries, we believe that being a Christian is more than what we do on a Sunday—it is about how we live every day. This heart for service came alive in our Devoted Citizen Campaign, where members from all our campuses rolled up their sleeves and went out into the community to make a tangible difference.

Cleaning Up Our Communities

The campaign saw hundreds of church members take to the streets, schools, parks, and towns to clean and restore environments that had been neglected. With gloves, refuse bags, and a spirit of service, volunteers worked together to transform spaces that had once been littered and dirty into cleaner, healthier environments.

This act of service was not only about picking up litter—it was about setting an example. The Devoted Citizen Campaign is a call for all of us to take responsibility for our neighborhoods, to look after the places we live, and to lead by action in building a cleaner, safer, and healthier community.

Shop for Free – Extending Love and Dignity

In addition to the clean-up initiative, some campuses hosted a “Shop for Free” event. This initiative gave underprivileged families the opportunity to “shop” for donated clothes—without paying a cent.

The joy on people’s faces as they chose items for themselves and their loved ones was a reminder that dignity can be restored through simple acts of kindness. After the “shopping,” our teams ministered the Word of God, reminding communities that Jesus not only cares for our souls but also for our daily needs.

Setting the Tone as Devoted Citizens

The Devoted Citizen Campaign is more than a project—it’s a lifestyle. By cleaning schools, towns, parks, and more, and by extending a hand to the less privileged, we are setting a tone for what it means to be a Devoted Citizen:

  • Caring for the environment.

  • Serving the community.

  • Meeting practical needs.

  • Sharing the love and hope of Christ.

A Movement, Not Just a Campaign

This campaign was a success not only because of the number of bags filled with litter or the clothes given away, but because of the spirit it ignited in all of us. It reminded us that change begins with us—when we step out, take initiative, and live out our faith in action.

As we continue the journey of being Devoted Citizens, we encourage everyone in our church and beyond to take small steps in their own communities. Together, we can build cleaner environments, restore dignity, and most importantly, point people back to Jesus.

Devoted Citizens don’t wait for change—they become the change.
